Commercial Property Partners acted as joint agents for prominent Worksop site
Leading property consultancy Commercial Property Partners have acted as joint agents, on behalf of Network Space Developments, as a 63-acre logistics site at Manton Wood, Worksop, has been sold to a major global logistics company.
The site will operate as the owner’s strategic site for East Midlands and will include a 538,230 sq ft distribution warehouse.
In 2015, Network Space Developments secured outline planning permission for 1m sq ft of logistics development at Manton Wood and enabling works, including a new access junction onto the A57 were completed in 2018.
The new occupier secured reserved matters approval in June 2019 for ‘a state of the art’ 18m to 28m high bay, high specification distribution warehouse with construction due to start on site later this year.
Toby Vernon of CPP said: “We are delighted to have been involved in the sale which represents a significant transaction in the logistics sector. The news is fantastic for the region with the first phase being delivered in 2020 and further built space to follow.”
Stephen Barnes, managing director (development) at Network Space said: “The sale of Manton Wood holds a great deal of importance and opportunity for Worksop and wider region, not least for the number of new jobs which will be created.”
Councillor Simon Greaves, leader of Bassetlaw District Council said: “We are delighted that another internationally renowned company will be basing their state-of-the-art East Midlands Supply Chain operations within the borders of Bassetlaw and North Nottinghamshire.
“This major investment shows the confidence they have in our district to provide essential connectivity and transport links, as well as the skills base and workforce that will help to fill the high number of jobs that will be created for local people on this site.
“I’d like to personally welcome the company to Bassetlaw and I hope that other potential investors see this as another sign that Bassetlaw is open for business.”
CPP and Colliers are the appointed agents on the Manton Wood development.
